Love this glimpse of Japan, a country I’ve not yet visited in spite of intending to for most of my life. As a nine-year old I did a small project at school on Japan 🗾
Hi Nicky! That's so cool that you did a school project as a kid. I had a teacher like that; she had us do a 'Christmas Around the World' project. Wow, did it ever open up my world.
Another marvelous moment of light and warmth in the cold and dark of winter. I felt puzzled, however. about whether this weird weather happened during summer, in June? You seem to suggest that but it's a bit hard for me to understand. I am very curious.
What a lovely moment and mesmerizing event. Candles change any environment. We resonate to fire. I am verrrryyyy happy to be sitting here in my snug, warm California kitchen only reading about Siberian cold. But the candles are right here with me. Thank you, dear friend.
Hello, dear Gaye! What a beautiful observation, they do change the whole experience. I love that you have your candles in your snug, warm kitchen - such a great place to read.
Your story reminds me of the words of the song, I think sung by Bing Crosby “ A winter wonderland”. Candles just have a way of showing you warmth without having to feel it. Really beautiful. As I was reading your beautiful words I couldn’t help noticing how bitterly cold it is here in South Africa. We really are not used to it.
What magic you evoke. I thought you were going to mention the brown paper bags that at some festival they light a candle on a cradle under the bag and they all
Hi Peter! Wow, I can visualize that, and it would be beautiful to see in person and to photograph. You're so right about candles; they do bring such warmth to any scene.
I just checked the weather in South Africa, cold temperatures for sure. Wishing you warmth and a cozy fleece!
A beautiful narration.Loved listening to it.
Hi Jimmy! Thank you so much, and it's great to hear you're using the audio function - it's such a neat feature.

Hi Carl! Thank you for the kind words. No, this actually happened on my flight in early December. I have a knack for catching the cold there :)

Hi Jeff! Thank you, it sure was. I felt so grateful to experience it!
